ABOUT ACTING THE MAGGOT

Meaning something like: behaving strangely, Acting The Maggot is a thoroughly Irish band name. To think that the six-piece is not from Ireland at all, but from the Netherlands, is therefore a tad unexpected. That does not take away from the fact that the band has made a name for themselves with their traditional Irish folk punk in the line of The Pogues, The Dubliners and Flogging Molly. Their adaptation of Foo Fighters’ “The Pretender” was shared by the Americans themselves and later the same thing happened when Queens Of The Stone Age shared their version of “No One Knows”. In Ireland itself, the band became known for a video showing them playing on the Great Wall of China. All in all, Acting The Maggot is an Irish party you don’t want to miss.
